2.  Who are these classes suitable for?

The Monday and Thursday morning classes are chair-based gentle yoga classes, suitable for seniors and people with physical limitations or disabilities.

The other classes are suitable for students of all-levels.   We get a mix of students in these classes:  from students who have never taken a yoga class before, to long-term students that have been attending Yvonne’s classes for the past 10 years.

For the Tuesday evening, Thursday evening, and Saturday morning classes, you should be able to get up and down from the floor easily.  If you have suffered a recent injury, you should use caution and your own judgment as as you participate in these classes.  These classes typically place greater demands on shoulders, arms, legs, hips and backs than the Monday and Thursday morning yoga classes.  All students are encouraged and guided to practice at the level that best suits their own body and physical abilities.

3.  What do classes cost?

Yoga classes are included as a member benefit when you join the Fauquier Hospital LIFE Center.  Membership rates start as low as $51.00 a month per person (when you sign up for an automated payment program).  The per-person rates decrease depending on number of people in your family that join and length of membership term.

If you don’t want to join the LIFE Center, you can purchase a punch card good for 5 classes and valid for 3 months.  Punch cards cost $65.00 and can be used for any classes offered through the LIFE Center, not just yoga classes.

You may also pay by the class. The drop-in fee is $15.00 per class.

You can pay at the front desk when you arrive; no advance payment is required.

If you have additional questions concerning payment and fees, call the LIFE Center at 540-316-2640.

4.   What do I need to wear?

Come to class in comfortable clothes.  A simple t-shirt over shorts, sweat pants, or leggings with an elastic waist band will work fine.  We ask that people go barefoot for safety reasons (socks can cause you to slip and injure yourself and shoes are not necessary).

5.   What do I need to bring to class?

You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat, towels, or other props you may have — but it’s not necessary.  We have everything you need, including yoga mats, yoga blankets, yoga blocks other props you’ll need for class.

6.   Cell Phone Policy.

Please turn off your cell phones during class as a courtesy to your classmates.

7.  Minimum / maximum class size.

We must have at least 2 people present to hold class.  Typical class sizes are 6-10 people; maximum class size is 15.

8.  Is yoga a religion?  Will I be expected to say or do things that conflict with my religious beliefs?

Yoga classes at the LIFE Center focus strictly on the physical aspects of yoga that can help you stay strong, healthy, happy, fit and flexible.   We do not discuss or impose religious views of any sort during class.
